ZUMBA!!

What an amazing feeling, to be back at Zumba! 25 days after my C-section and the birth of our little dragon I was back at the best studio (Studio Bene-fit) and my teacher and friend Nancy. The routines we SICK...Footloose that's all I am going to say. I obviously couldn't do everything, not jumping or serious girating(LOL) but the rest was super fun, good sweat and aching muscles...so SUCCESS!! Four and a half weeks until hockey and I  am so looking forward to it! woot woot! It's Amanda's birthday this weekend and Layla Rose is going to meet the rest of the Mancini-Pedicelli clan. WHAT TO DRESS HER IN!! Can't wait to post pics!

Our little dragon!

So people have been asking us why we call our little Layla Rose a little dragon, so here is the story in a nut shell. After Layla Rose was born we were moved into the post partum room. there Eric and I were left with our little angel. We had a private room but we could easily hear the other women and their babies in the ward. What we didn't hear was our own baby. All Layla did was sleep. She didn't cry or make any noises, we thought we had it made! We could hear the screams from the other rooms of the other babies and were curious (yet happy) we weren't going through the same thing. 24hrs later it was night number 2 and then the baby just SCREAMED , and I mean like nothing I have ever heard before. I thought she was dying or in incredible pain. It was so intense and LOUD! We called the nurses and they reassured us and we felt a little silly for the level of panic we had just had. But the sound from that little 6lb baby was crazy, and it sounded like some kind of animal. Then Layla's Auntie Julie let us know that it was the year of the dragon in China, and so we nicknamed Layla the little dragon and the name has stuck and is suited if you ever hear her let it rip! That is the story of our little dragon!

Our little adventure finishes with a TREASURE

So it has been awhile, BUT for a great reason! Our little angel Layla Rose Mancini was born on May 4th at the Royal vic at 18h17. She is PERFECT!! We are super elated to have her with us and we are treasuring every single moment!

The labour and delivery went as expected...meaning NOTHING WENT TO PLAN! The doctors tried with four different times with 2 meds to induce labour. All of it failed to dialate my cervix passed 4cm, however I had the pleasure of enduring over 24 hours of contractions without epidural ( 1-3 min apart), to be followed by another 18 hrs with epidural. All to be finished by an emergency c-section. I had an infection in the hospital and then was discharged after 6 glorious days only to be back in the hospital for a second infection YIPEE! Now I am home again and back on antibiotics pills after an IV. PHEW...hopefully all will be over soon.

It has been a long 5 year journey, and I would never have been able to do this without my husband. He has been the rock on which I lean on and has been so strong through this all. He has had to take care of both me and Layla and has truly been just the best there is. I would also like to thank all my friends and family who have stood by us through the crappola, and now are going to enjoy every single minute of the blessed little baby. So from the deepest part of me and Eric and our little baby, Thank you all so much!
